In 2006, Neuflize OBC helped to finance around 70% of French cinema and TV film production. With thirty years’ experience behind it, it is now the no. 1 banker to the French cinema industry. Although a profession of creative individuals and enthusiasts, the cinema nevertheless has to deal with certain realities: special accounting rules, special financing, contractual relationships with the TV channels and the promotion of rights catalogues. The specifics of the profession require the dual competencies of adviser and banker.

Because it understands the sector’s complex culture, Neuflize OBC has access to all the players involved in getting a film released. From production to the technical industries to distribution and the running of cinemas, Neuflize OBC is the partner of both established names and young talents, of integrated groups and family firms.

We work with more than 80% of French production, distribution and post-production companies.

In 2006, the cinema and TV production activity was a visible vector of growth for Neuflize OBC, having expanded by 15% versus 2005. This rapidly growing activity is supported by a dedicated 20-strong team. The cinema and TV production activity services around 600 clients and has a loan book of more than EUR 350 million.

To confirm its commitment to the cinema, Neuflize OBC has increased its stakes in key sector players, notably Cofiloisirs. Through Cofiloisirs, we have contributed to the funding of around half of all French films.

In 2007, Neuflize OBC increased its presence among cinema professionals by supporting the Cinémathèque Française and continues to partner the Cinéfondation during the Cannes Film Festival.
