What ABN AMRO does
ABN AMRO takes security over the Internet seriously, and has applied a wide range of security technology and methods to protect the interaction between you and the Bank. The following are three features or aspects of the security system on ABN AMRO INSIGHT, which increases security and minimises risks:
As soon as you start the login process with ABN AMRO INSIGHT, a secured connection is established between the ABN AMRO server and your computer, based on the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This technology is widely used by financial institutions, and encodes the data that is exchanged between your computer and ABN AMRO. This encoding, or scrambling, of data is referred to as encryption, and ABN AMRO requires browsers that support a minimum of 128-bit encryption technology.
You can see that encryption is switched on in Microsoft Internet Explorer when a small “closed padlock” icon appears in the bottom right hand-side of your browser.

ABN AMRO INSIGHT is also protected by firewalls, which are special combinations of software and computers, designed to prevent unauthorized access to your account details via the internet.
ABN AMRO INSIGHT is a private website with restricted access.Only you can have access to your account information with the correct combination of your personal DigiPass© and secret Personal Identification Number (PIN).
The DigiPass© is a special security device that looks like a small calculator, and is specially programmed for you.First, you must activate your personal DigiPass© with your PIN - this PIN is only known to you. Then, you must use the DigiPass© to attain a special 7-digit pass-code.This special pass-code changes each time you log-in to your INSIGHT Account.
If you (or someone else) keys-in the wrong PIN or special pass-code three times, your account and personal DigiPass will be blocked. This ensures that no unauthorized person can attempt to access your Account by trying combinations of the PIN and/or special pass-code.
If you lose your DigiPass, or forget your PIN, you must immediately contact ABN AMRO Bank to re-activate your Account and DigiPass.
