Can I change my PIN?
In fact, it is strongly recommended that you change your 6-digit PIN number periodically. You will be prompted to change your PIN the first time you activate your personal Digipass® (special security device) with the Activation PIN that the Bank provided you. After that, you can change the PIN at any time in any combination of 6 digits of your preference. Just follow these simple steps:
Your Digipass® and PIN are confidential: Do not share them with anyone else. Notify your Private Banker immediately if you lose your Digipass®, or forget your PIN.
How do I know when my information is encrypted?
When you go to the web page to log onto your INSIGHT account, you should note that the web address begins with https; plus at the bottom right corner of the screen, there is a small security lock. This is a security feature, alerting you that you are in a secure website and the information is encrypted.
How does the Digipass work?
To login to your private account, use your personal Digipass® in the 5-steps below:
ABN AMRO INSIGHT is a private website with restricted access. Only you can have access to your account information with the correct combination of your personal DigiPass (security device) and secret Personal Identification Number (PIN). ABN AMRO is using four levels of security measurements:
If you forget your PIN and enter an incorrect PIN three times on your Digipass®, your Digipass® will be 'blocked'. The Digipass® will now display a 7 digit blocking code on the screen. Contact your Private Banker with your blocking code. Your Private Banker will then request a new activation PIN for you, which you will receive by mail in the special envelope.
What if I lose my Digipass®?
In case you lose your Digipass®, you should contact your Private Banker as soon as possible.
What is encryption and how is it used to protect my information?
Encryption technology allows information to travel securely on the Internet. Using a mathematical formula, information is encoded, or "scrambled", by the sender. The receiver must decode, or "de-scramble" the information by using the corresponding "decoder". Without the corresponding "decoder", the information would be unusable.
Encryption technology can be used for a host of applications, including electronic commerce (sending credit card numbers for orders or transmitting account information), e-mail messages, and sensitive documents.
The effectiveness (or level of security) for encryption is measured in terms of how long the key is -- the longer the key, the longer it would take for someone without the correct "decoder" to break the code. The length of the key is measured in bits. The level of encryption used with many ordinary browsers is 40-bit, while the level of encryption required to use the Private Bank's Internet site is 128-bit.
For a 40-bit key, there are 240 possible different combinations. For a 128-bit key, there are 2128 possible different combinations.
All transmission of customer information through the Private Bank's Internet site is encrypted using 128-bit encryption technology, which is currently the strongest encryption level that is generally available. Your browser is probably 40-bit if you haven't specifically downloaded 128-bit.

What are the recommended hardware/software requirements for use of ABN AMRO INSIGHT?
For a Windows based PC, the following minimum hardware configuration is recommended:

The speed of login and refreshing of information on your screen depends entirely on the speed and type of Internet Connection you have.
